Walter Bergweiler:A new proof of the Ahlfors five islands theoremWe deduce the Ahlfors five islands theorem from a corresponding result of Nevanlinna concerning perfectly branched values, a rescaling lemma for non-normal families and an existence theorem for quasiconformal mappings.
